This large and imposing villa was built in 1926 by the present owners Grandfather. It started out as a main 4 bedroomed villa with attached 2 bedroomed cottage. We have developed it into a 6 bedroomed Family home with extremely large and welcoming lounge and a separate sitting room. It is an ideal house for large family holidays and gatherings due to its large spacious interior.
The holiday home/villa has 6 bedrooms: 3 kingsize beds, 3 twin bedded rooms, this is the ideal holiday home to accommodate large family vacations on the Isle of Arran of up to 12 guests. All bedrooms are equipped with bath and hand towel per person and hairdryer.
Bedroom 1: The biggest bedroom has some of the best views from its corner windows. You could watch the sun rise over the Ayrshire hills or the amazing changes of the sea. The room has a king size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawer unit and two bedside cabinets.
Bedroom 2: Is a linked bedroom into the separate 2 twin bedded rooms where you will find the second living room and downstairs shower room, ideal for youngsters. The room overlooks the front garden and sea beyond. It has a king size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawer unit and a bedside cabinet.
Bedroom 3: Has wonderful views overlooking the back garden. The room has a king size bed, large wardrobe, chest of drawers and two bedside cabinets. The travel cot is also located in this room but could be assembled in another bedroom.
Bedroom 4: Located at back of house with side views to the sea and coast. It is a twin bedded room. It has open hanging space, chest of drawers and bedside cabinet.
Bedroom 5 & 6: These bedrooms are located through bedroom 2 and can also be accessed from separate side door in property. One has wonderful sea views and other overlooks the back garden. Both bedrooms have twin beds, hanging space, chest of drawers and bedside cabinet.
The property features 2 downstair shower rooms and upstairs a family bathroom.
A bright spacious lounge/living room with numerous large windows it is a wonderful area for everyone to relax in front of a welcoming coal fire. A large basket can be filled with logs from our extensive log store. Truly a room for all seasons, with its large comfy leather sofas, arm chairs and even a chaise longue, you can sit back and enjoy the views of the front garden , sea and Ayrshire coast. Within the lounge there is a 58” flat screen smart TV with SKY, a DVD player and a music system. An open cupboard fully stocked with games, jigsaws and books for all ages is situated in a corner of this room.
The large hall way leads off from the porch through a half glassed door. In this light hall a large window looks out over the back garden. It has a fireplace with welcoming electric fire. A unit which has beach towels can be found here. The downstairs shower room is located off the hall.
A bright modern kitchen overlooking beautiful back garden. Fully equipped with a range of cupboards for storage and everything a family requires including Ceramic hob cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, 2 fridge freezers, toaster, microwave, filter coffee machine, food processor & mixer.
The Dining Room is a bright room with windows looking out to the colourful back garden, situated off the kitchen and hall. The large table comfortably seats 8 but can be easily be extended to seat 12. A cupboard in dining room contains the water tank, Dyson, iron and ironing board.
The securely enclosed stunning landscaped flat back garden, features many unusual and colourful shrubs, 2 paved areas with garden furniture ideal for alfresco dining, one patio has an attractive drum table with replica tractor seats. 9 hole putting green for all to enjoy, putters for all sizes and balls provided. A children’s wooden playhouse, with chairs and a table is situated in the woods.
Front lawned garden is securely inclosed with farm style gates with 2 bench seats to sit and enjoy the stunning views of the Ayrshire coast. The rhododendron side garden is an ideal spot to be sheltered and relax under the palm trees.
Whiting Bay enjoys a fine sandy beach with numerous rock pools to explore at low tide. You may also enjoy a stroll along the beach to Kings Cross point to visit the Viking Fort situated opposite Holy Isle.
There are numerous interesting walks close by with circular trails to the spectacular Glenashdale Falls and the prehistoric burial chambers of the Giants Graves. The Forestry Trails are ideal fo Mountain biking and Walking. If Golf is your hobby one of the 7 courses on the island, Whiting Bay Golf course is less than a mile from the house.
